Tabung Haji RCI: Two more individuals to be charged in Kota Baru on Sept 15


KOTA BARU: A former deputy general manager (construction) and a former project manager will be charged at the Sessions Court here on Tuesday (Sept 15) in a case related to the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH).

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), in a statement on Monday (Sept 14), said it had obtained permission to charge both individuals.

According to MACC, the charge proceedings are scheduled for 8.30am on Tuesday.

Former minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom was charged in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Monday with three counts of causing TH to dispose of RM860,308,770.51, or SAR766,060,237 (Saudi Riyals), belonging to the institution to Saudi Arabia-based property development and project management company Al-Rawda Real Estate Development and Projects Management Co Ltd (Al-Rawda).

Apart from Jamil Khir, those charged were former TH chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, former THP Bina Sdn Bhd Security and Safety Manager Nasahruddin Ahmad and former TH Properties Sdn Bhd deputy general manager Tengku Kamarolhisham Tengku Kamaruddin, who was also a former deputy general manager of THP Bina Sdn Bhd.

Also charged was Alam Maritim Resources Bhd group managing director and group chief executive officer Datuk Azmi Ahmad. – Bernama
