PETALING JAYA: Bukit Aman has arrested five suspects in its ongoing investigation into Tabung Haji irregularities.
Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said the five were arrested on Tuesday (Sept 8).

“Of the five, three were arrested to assist investigations into the issue of hibah payments in 2017, while the other two were detained to assist investigations under Section 4(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA).
“The arrests involved three men and two women, aged between 48 and 70.
“Those arrested include a former Tabung Haji chairman, a former chief executive officer, a former chief financial officer, as well as other serving Tabung Haji staff members,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
Three of the suspects have been remanded until Thursday, while the remaining two have been remanded until Friday.
“The investigation is ongoing. Police remind all parties not to speculate or spread unverified information regarding the investigation,” Rusdi said.
