KUALA LUMPUR: Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan has celebrated the achievements of 24 students from 13 schools who represented Malaysia at the World Robot Games (WRG) 2025, in an appreciation event held at Parliament.

The students brought home more than 80 medals from the international robotics and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) competition, putting Malaysia in the spotlight on the global stage.

WRG is among the world’s largest robotics and STEM platforms, drawing more than 1,000 participants from 10 countries, namely Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia.

Ramanan said every Malaysian student won at least one medal, marking an improvement over the previous year’s participation.

"I am very proud of the outstanding achievements of our students who have brought honour to Malaysia on the international stage," he said in his speech on Tuesday (Feb 10).

The Sungai Buloh MP also highlighted K Sachein, 13, who has been involved in building, coding and debugging robots since the age of five, with his success the result of eight years of continuous training.

Ramanan said the results reflected the students’ strong commitment and the growing strength of STEM education in Malaysia, and showed that Malaysian students can compete internationally when given sustained exposure and training.
