Motorcyclist dies after being run over by lorry


KUALA PILAH: A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed after he was run over by a trailer lorry transporting cement at KM4 Jalan Kuala Pilah-Batu Kikir near here.

Kuala Pilah OCPD Supt Muhamad Mustafah Hussin said the victim, a mechanic, was heading home to Seremban when the accident happened around 10.30pm on Tuesday (Feb 10).

"Based on a preliminary probe, the motorcyclist was overtaking the lorry when a car suddenly appeared on the opposite lane.

"His bike grazed the oncoming car, causing him to lose control and fall under the lorry," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Feb 11).

Supt Mustafah said the victim was killed on the spot.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
