KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry has allocated RM2mil to the Public Works Department for urgent repair works at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Juasseh, Negri Sembilan, following the collapse of the school's roof last Tuesday (Aug 18).

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the safety of students, teachers and the entire school community could not be compromised.

"Hopefully, the entire SMK Juasseh community will continue to be safe and well, and that the school can resume normal operations in a safer environment," she said in a Facebook post on Saturday (Aug 22).

She also expressed her appreciation to JKR, the State Education Department, the District Education Office and the school authorities for their cooperation in ensuring that the repair works could be carried out as soon as possible.

The roof of the school's laboratory was reported to have collapsed at around noon last Tuesday.
