Bomba receives fleet of 30 new fire engines from China

PUTRAJAYA: The Fire and Rescue Department has received 30 new fire engines worth RM60mil to replace ageing models.

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said the vehicles were acquired through a smart initiative under the Public-Private-People Partnership model to replace fire engines over 20 years old.

"Today, we received 30 advanced fire engines worth RM60mil through strategic cooperation between the fire department and China, following negotiations between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Chinese Premier Li Qiang," he told a press conference after the handing-over ceremony of the fire rescue tender (FRT) vehicles and Ops Siaga Raya 2026 here on Monday (Feb 9).

Also present were Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujin and Bomba director-general Datuk Nor Hisham Mohammad. – Bernama
