BANGI: The process of assigning scores to 14 ministries identified as having failed to meet targets in implementing physical development projects will be carried out next month, said Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.

He said each secretary-general would be summoned to be informed of their scores, based on demerits resulting from the failure to execute development projects.

"By the end of next month, I will begin assigning scores to these 14 ministries.

"I will call each ministry's secretary-general to inform them of the scores based on demerits for failing to implement the development projects,” he told a press conference after the 2026 Retreat of Ministry Secretaries-General and Heads of Service (KSUKP) here on Saturday (Feb 7).

On Jan 15, Shamsul Azri said a total of 14 ministries were identified as having failed to achieve targets in the implementation of physical development projects allocated last year.

He added that the development expenditure rate under these ministries stood at 87.91 per cent, which is below the national average and requires serious attention. — Bernama
