PETALING JAYA: The Defence Ministry will heed the decree of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and intensify efforts to combat corruption within the Armed Forces, says Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
The Defence Minister said His Majesty’s remarks were prudent, adding that the ministry accepted them with the deepest gratitude.
“Corruption is something that must be avoided, more so in the Armed Forces, an important institution.
“We will ensure what happened last year and this year will not happen again.
“In my New Year address, I have also explained the guidelines being taken to make sure such graft is avoided,” Mohamed Khaled told a press conference yesterday.
His Majesty, in his Royal Address at the Fifth Session of the 15th Parliament yesterday, expressed disappointment over the recent graft cases involving the Armed Forces.
“Corruption must be fought till the end,” His Majesty said.
