Synergy key to Sabah’s security, says NSC deputy DG

KOTA KINABALU: Synergy between the people and security agencies, especially through coordination by the National Security Council (NSC), is essential for peace and stability in a country, including Sabah, says NSC deputy director-general Datuk Baharuddin Ahmad.

He said the NSC was tasked with coordinating all security issues, including land, maritime and air borders, with the involvement of various agencies nationwide.

“Sabah has massive potential in tourism, maritime and economic sectors that can generate billions in revenue if developed systematically and earnestly,” he said after a courtesy visit to the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah, Tun Musa Aman, on Thursday (Jan 15).

“We must coordinate with all maritime agencies, petroleum, socially and politically,” he said.

During the courtesy visit, he also informed Musa of his retirement after more than 38 years of service in the police force and the NSC.
