Convenience store worker dies as two bikes collide in Kluang


KLUANG: A convenience store worker has been killed after he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding and crashed into another motorcycle here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the incident took place at KM96.9, Jalan Batu Pahat-Mersing at 6am on Tuesday (Jan 13).

"The 21-year-old victim, a local man, was headed to his house in Kampung Kenangan from Pekan Kahang when the accident happened," he said in a statement.

ACP Bahrin said the victim had lost control of his machine and hit the other motorcycle ridden by a 64-year-old local man.

ACP Bahrin added the deceased suffered head and body injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

He said the other motorcyclist sustained head injuries is being treated at Hospital Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom.

ACP Bahrin said and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He urged witnesses to go to the nearest police station or contact at the Kluang police headquarters at 07-778 4222 or 014-365 6822.
