KOTA KINABALU: Youths should take advantage of business opportunities such as franchising, as these have been proven to sustain and grow quite successfully, says Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Ewon Benedick.
The Sabah Industrial, Entrepreneurship and Transport minister said that through franchising businesses, young entrepreneurs would get guidance, training and marketing support from the headquarters.
“This helps them to grow their business faster and more sustainably,” he said after officiating at a local franchising business chain, SugarBun Express in Inanam near here, Sunday (Jan 4).
He said both the state and federal governments had various supporting initiatives in place to assist those wanting to venture into this field.
This includes financial aid, training and entrepreneurship guidance, said Ewon, who encourages more to take up entrepreneurship to change their standard of living.
He said the government was also consistently pushing for micro, small and medium enterprises while assisting startups and ongoing businesses, as these are the main economic drivers in the country.
“Franchising is one of the best platforms for youths to start their entrepreneurial journey more systematically,” he said.
Ewon said discipline and hard work, as well as the willingness to constantly learn, are keys to a successful and long-term business stability.
