KUALA LUMPUR: A 16-year-old teenager has pleaded guilty at a Magistrate’s Court here to voluntarily causing hurt to former Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman during a vacant possession operation at Kampung Sungai Baru in September, 2025.

The minor, whose name is withheld, entered his guilty plea after the charge was read out before Magistrate Nur Farahain Roslan here on Friday (Jan 2).

The accused was charged with voluntarily causing hurt to ACP Sulizmie with the intention to instill fear and deter him from carrying out his lawful duties as the commanding officer during the operation.

The offence was committed between 10.50am and 11.14am at Jalan Datuk Abdul Malik, Kampung Sungai Baru on Sept 11.

The accused was charged under Section 332 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to three years or a fine or both, upon conviction.

The court fixed bail at RM500 in one surety and set Feb 4 for the teenager's probation report before handing down a sentence.

At a separate Magistrate's Court, the same teenager with another 17-year-old and five men were jointly charged with participating in an unlawful assembly at the same location on the same date and time.

The five men were Mohd Sopirman Mohd Yunus, 31, Muhammad Redzuan Kamal Abdul Rahman, 19, Muhammad Fallah Islahudden Shah Abdul Fattah, 20, Ariffin Abu Bakar, 56, and Muhammad Azhar Salleh, 36.

They were charged with taking part in the illegal assembly by defying an eviction notice despite knowing that the assembly has been instructed to disperse.

The charge under Section 145 of the Penal Code carries a maximum two-year jail term or with a fine or both, upon conviction.

All the accused pleaded guilty except Ariffin.

Magistrate Nurul Izzah Hasan Basri fixed bail at RM500 in one surety pending the probation report for both the underaged teenagers. Ariffin was allowed bail at RM2,800 in one surety. The cases are fixed for mention on Feb 4.

Meanwhile, the court fined Sopirman, Redzuan, Fallah and Azhar RM3,500 each in default six months imprisonment.
