PETALING JAYA: A PAS leader has offered to act as a mediator between Indira Gandhi (pic) and her daughter Prasana Diksa, saying that reuniting a mother and her daughter is about humanity, not religion.

Sungai Buloh PAS chief Zaharuddin Muhammad said that the matter was not about religion.

"I have promised Indira that I will try to reunite her with her daughter because this is an issue of humanity," in a press conference organised by Lawyers for Liberty here on Monday (Dec 29).

He also said that even though Muhammad Riduan Abdullah and Prasana converted to Islam, this should not prevent Indira from being reunited with her daughter.

Zaharuddin also urged the public to contact him at 019-351 4078 if they have information about Prasana or her father.

Also at the press conference was influencer and activist Syarul Ema Rena Abu Saman, better known as Ratu Naga and lawyer Latheefa Koya.

"This issue is only raised every election and politicians pledge to find Indira's daughter," said Syarul Ema, adding that police should put more effort to trace Prasana and her father.

Another influencer, Rafidah Ibrahim, said Indira had been separated from her daughter for far too long and the issue needed closure.
