HEAVY rain in Kuala Terengganu has led to around 40% of hotel bookings being cancelled, Kosmo! Ahad reported.

According to a staff member of a boutique hotel, there had been endless calls from customers wanting to cancel their bookings.

“They are worried about the floods. They are uneasy about holidaying when the weather condition is unpredictable,” said hotel personnel Rafizi Amirul Mamat. He said that about 40% of bookings had been cancelled since Friday.

Despite the losses, he said the hotel management understood the concerns of the people.

Another hotel manager, Suaibah Harun, said they were also seeing room cancellations due to the floods.

“We understand the situation, which is affecting our customers.

“However it is still manageable and has not largely impacted our operations.”

> An entertainment columnist with Mingguan Malaysia has named Fasha Sandha as one of the kindest celebrities.

“This was based on the accounts of fans who had dealt with the lovely actress,” columnist Cik Bunga wrote.

Fasha, 41, is said to be a generous person, using her own money to treat her fans.

“From breakfast to dinner, she will settle it all,” Cik Bunga said, noting that Fasha did not do this for public attention or to create social media content.

“There is no ‘live’ (broadcast), no camera.”

Cik Bunga pointed out that many people found Fasha to be a genuine person who treats everyone the same even when the camera isn’t rolling.
