WORK on constructing an access road to a Hindu temple in Kajang, Selangor, continues to be hampered, Makkal Osai reported.

Although the Sri Maha Mariamman Aalayam Temple is located just 50m from Taman Koperasi Cuepacs, residents must make a 6km detour due to the lack of a direct access road.

The temple committee said approval to build the access road was granted in 2017, and that the proposed route passes through land gazetted to the temple in 1988 under a permanent deed.

However, construction has been stalled because a squatter house and an illegal car workshop are blocking the proposed route.

> A couple in India cancelled their honeymoon to catch a glimpse of Lionel Messi in person, Makkal Osai reported.

Messi is currently on a four-city “GOAT India Tour”.

The bride said they postponed the trip as seeing Messi was more important than the honeymoon.

They were among fans gathered to welcome Messi, holding up a large sign saying they had just gotten married and cancelled their honeymoon to see him.
