Floods: 107 SMS Tuanku Syed Putra SPM candidates moved to alternative exam centre

ALOR SETAR: A total of 107 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates from Sekolah Menengah Sains (SMS) Tuanku Syed Putra, Kangar, Perlis, have been moved to an alternative examination centre due to floods in the state.

The Kedah State Education Department said that all of them have been placed at the dormitory of Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi (SBPI) Kubang Pasu in Bukit Kayu Hitam.

It added that all the candidates will sit for the examination at the Kubang Pasu SBPI from Monday (Dec 1) to Dec 15.

"The examination materials from the Perlis Education Department vault were transferred to the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Tunku Bendahara vault today (Nov 29).

"This was done with thorough monitoring by the Examination Board, Kedah JPN, Perlis JPN and the Kubang Pasu District Education Office Examination Management Sector," the Kedah Education Department said in a statement on Saturday.

In a related development, the Kedah Education Department said the Sekolah Menengah Agama (SMA) Darussaadah and SMK Seri Gunung examination centres, which were previously moved due to floods, have resumed operations after floodwaters receded.

"A total of 89 candidates from SMA Darussaadah and 62 from SMK Seri Gunung have returned to their respective schools and will continue to sit for the SPM examination at these centres from Monday,” it added. - Bernama
