Sabah polls: Shafie criticises GRS’s claims of protecting Sabah

TUARAN: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) should not claim that it is protecting Sabah if it is in an electoral pact with non-Sabah-based parties, says Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal.

In clapping back at the GRS slogan of “Rumah Kita, Kita Jaga (we protect our home)”, Shafie said there were still seats allocated to Pakatan Harapan by GRS.

“How can you say you’re protecting your home? Warisan is contesting all 73 seats – that’s what it means to protect our home,” said a fiery Shafie during a ceramah here late Tuesday (Nov 25) night.

GRS, which is in an electoral pact with Pakatan, is contesting 55 of the 73 seats up for grabs, with Pakatan taking the remainder.

Pakatan is also in a separate electoral pact with Barisan Nasional.

However, clashes are taking place among the three in various seats.

Sabah will hold its state elections on Saturday (Nov 29).
