130 Sungai Buloh students receive over RM50,000 in study aid


KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 130 high-achieving Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) students from the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency have received education aid amounting to RM50,750 for their pursuit of higher education.

Sungai Buloh MP Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said, in a Facebook post, that RM38,500 was contributed by Bank Rakyat, with the remaining RM12,250 coming from his personal funds.

"Due to my work schedule in Sabah, I was unable to join them on Sunday (Nov 23), but I spoke with the students via video call and delegated my senior private secretary, Firdaus Farid, to attend the programme on my behalf.

"Congratulations to all the Sungai Buloh students for their outstanding achievements," he said in the post.

The PKR vice-president highlighted that since 2024, the programme implemented with Bank Rakyat and Yayasan Bank Rakyat in Sungai Buloh has included SPM excellent student incentives, school assistance, Back to School aid, and the Rakyat Tuition Programme.

He noted that since 2024, Bank Rakyat and Yayasan Bank Rakyat have channelled nearly RM1.2mil to over 4,000 recipients, including students, families, and the underprivileged in the Sungai Buloh constituency.

"Thank you to Bank Rakyat and Yayasan Bank Rakyat for their strong cooperation with the Sungai Buloh Parliamentary Service Centre.

"Such efforts continue to uplift our children's future and strengthen the well-being of the people," he said. – Bernama
