MELAKA: Firemen rescued a pet dog trapped inside a massage chair at a house in Taman Malim Jaya here.
The state Fire and Rescue Department said it received a distress call from the pet owner at 8.18am yesterday.
The department’s operations division assistant director, Senior Fire Supt Mohd Shahrom Laji, said a team from the Melaka Tengah Fire and Rescue station was deployed to the scene.
He said they found the dog visibly distressed and wedged inside the mechanical components of the massage chair.
“The team cautiously began the rescue work to avoid injuring the animal.

“The operation required care and precision as the dog was stuck in a confined space,” he said when contacted.
It is learnt that the dog was sitting on the chair when it suddenly became trapped at the base.
Mohd Shahrom said the team carefully dismantled parts of the chair before freeing the dog at 8.34am.
“The animal was rescued without injury and returned safely to its owner,” he added.
