Woman killed while changing tyre on NSE

SEREMBAN: A 31-year-old woman died after a container lorry struck her while she was changing a tyre of her sports utility vehicle along KM260.6 of the North-South Expressway (NSE).

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Azahar Abdul Rahman said the victim was believed to have been on her way to work in Senawang when the mishap happened at 9.20am on Wednesday (Nov 19).

"Based on preliminary investigations, a rear tyre of the victim's vehicle went flat, and she stopped in the emergency lane to change it.

"While she was changing the tyre, a lorry driven by a 24-year-old man crashed into her," he said, adding that the victim died on the spot.

ACP Azahar said the woman's remains were sent to Hospital Rembau for a post-mortem.

The case is being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
