Anwar attends groundbreaking for Penang's Juru-Sungai Dua traffic dispersal project


BUTTERWORTH: The traffic dispersal project between the Juru Toll Plaza and the Sungai Dua Toll Plaza has officially commenced with a groundbreaking ceremony held at Tapak Ekspo Seberang Jaya on Saturday (Nov).

Officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Saturday (Nov 8), the 17.3km project was expected to benefit 200,000 daily users by reducing congestion along the North-South Highway route.

Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow, Work Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and PLUS managing director Datuk Nik Airina Nik Jaffar were also present.
