KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) will field six candidates, including three new faces, to contest in the Nov 29 Sabah election.

The party will field deputy president Datuk Edward Dagul, 59, for the Limbahau seat in Papar, deputy president cum treasurer Datuk Japiril Suhaimi, 62, in Kundasang and retired school principal Liew Yun Ye, 57, for the Tg Papat seat.
The party’s supreme council, chaired by its president Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee, endorsed and announced the six candidates for the election during its meeting.

SAPP, together with Sabah STAR, led by Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan, left Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) on Oct 1 after going against the local coalition’s move to team up with national Pakatan Harapan.
SAPP and STAR are expected to work together under a loose coalition, Gabungan Bersama Sabah (GBS).
According to the party’s official statement, SAPP's culture of discipline and good organisation made it the first political party to announce candidates.
