PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission will act only if graft issues linked to the Aerotrain service disruptions are found.
“As of now there are no complaints. It depends on the type of offence, if any. Do not put every offence on the MACC’s shoulders,” said chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.
“If it is under our jurisdiction then we will investigate, but if not then we cannot,” he added.
Azam said this when speaking to the media on Wednesday (Oct 29) after the closing of the 21st Principals Meeting of the Asean Parties Against Corruption.
Previously, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the Land Public Transport Agency had been instructed to open an investigation into Malaysia Airports Holdings following the most recent Aerotrain disruptions.
He said the move followed months of Aerotrain operations, and that the ministry takes every disruption seriously.
