PETALING JAYA: The 2026 academic calendar for all national and government-aided schools will officially return to a January start, says Fadhlina Sidek.
The Education Minister said the 2026 school year will run from Jan 11 to Dec 31 for Group A states, and Jan 12 to Dec 31 for Group B states.
The 2026 academic calendar can be downloaded from the Education Ministry's portal at www.moe.gov.my/surat-siaran-kpm-bil-3-tahun2025-kalendar-akademi.
She also said the transition back to the January academic cycle was carried out gradually and in an orderly manner without disrupting the operation of educational institutions.
"This achievement reflects the result of careful planning and unwavering commitment by education personnel at all levels," she said in a statement on Tuesday (Oct 28).
Fadhlina also said that the effort highlights the ministry's determination to prioritise the well-being of students, teachers and the entire schooling community.
