Over 100 schools in KL and S'gor to switch to online learning during Asean Summit

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 102 schools in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor will switch to online Home-based Teaching and Learning (PdPR) for a week from Oct 23 to 29 in conjunction with the 47th Asean Summit.

The Education Ministry said the temporary arrangement was made in view of road closures and tightened security measures during the summit.

"The approval for the implementation of PdPR and working from home (BDR) for the affected schools takes into account road closures and security control throughout the event.

"This is to ensure that teaching and learning can continue smoothly,” it said in a statement on Saturday (Oct 18).

The ministry added that parents, guardians, students, teachers and school staff are advised to refer to their respective schools’ official communication channels for detailed information on the PdPR and BDR implementation.

"The experience of conducting PdPR and BDR during the pandemic and the Asean Summit held in May this year will help ensure that the learning process continues while safeguarding the wellbeing of students, teachers and the school community," the ministry said.
