Police announce road closures and diversions in stages for 47th Asean Summit


KUALA LUMPUR: Road closures and diversions will be conducted in stages from Oct 26 for the 47th Asean Summit.

Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said Asean delegates will begin arriving on Oct 26.

“Periodic road closures and diversions will be implemented in stages, affecting six major highways and 25 roads across Kuala Lumpur,” he said on Thursday (Oct 16).

He said this after addressing JSPT officers and personnel.

Motorcade rehearsals will run from October 17 to 25.

These involve routes from the KLIA Bunga Raya Complex and Subang Air Base to hotels, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and Seri Negara.

Below is the list of affected expressways and roads for the dry run from Friday (Oct 17) to Oct 25.

Lebuh KLIA.

ELITE Expressway (KLIA to Putrajaya).

NKVE (Subang to Jalan Duta).

Guthrie Corridor Expressway.

North South Expressway (Sungai Buloh to Jalan Duta).

MEX Expressway is affected.

KL–Seremban Highway (Sungai Besi to City Centre).

Lingkaran Putrajaya.

Jalan Istana.

Jalan Damansara.

Jalan Tun Razak.

Jalan Ampang.

Jalan Sultan Ismail.

Jalan Bukit Bintang.

Jalan Imbi.

Jalan Parlimen.

Jalan Kuching.

 

Additionally, routes from hotels to KLCC will be controlled from 8am on Oct 26 until completion and on the same date, routes from KLCC to hotels will be controlled.

Other controlled junctions are;

The junction of Jalan Ampang and Jalan P. Ramlee.

The junction of Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan P. Ramlee.

The junction of Jalan Perak and Jalan P. Ramlee.

The junction of Jalan Perak and Jalan Pinang.

The junction of Jalan Stonor and Jalan Kia Peng.

The junction of Jalan Stonor and Persiaran KLCC.

 

On October 27 from 8am until completion, routes from hotels to KLCC will be controlled.

From 7pm until completion, routes from hotels to KLCC will be controlled along with the following junctions;

The junction of Jalan Ampang and Jalan P. Ramlee.

The junction of Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan P. Ramlee.

The junction of Jalan Perak and Jalan P. Ramlee.

The junction of Jalan Perak and Jalan Pinang.

The junction of Jalan Stonor and Jalan Kia Peng.

The junction of Jalan Stonor and Persiaran KLCC.

 

On October 28 from 8am until completion, routes from hotels to KLIA and Subang Air Base will be controlled along with the following roads;

Lebuh KLIA.

NKVE (Subang to Jalan Duta).

North South Expressway (Sungai Buloh to Jalan Duta).
