WFH allowed during 47th Asean Summit

PUTRAJAYA: Department heads are authorised to approve work-from-home requests from civil servants who will be affected by the anticipated traffic congestion during the upcoming Asean Summit.

The Public Service Department (PSD) said this measure aligns with the government’s initiative to prioritise resilient and compassionate governance, consistent with its core values of well-being, empathy and efficient public service delivery.

“Eligible civil servants are encouraged to consult with their respective department head. The implementation of this policy, however, must be based on existing procedures and conditions outlined in the prevailing regulations,” it said in a statement.

Road diversions and closures in conjunction with the summit are expected to happen from Oct 23 to Oct 28.

Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri had said the diversions and closures would occur in stages to ensure the smooth travel of delegations while maintaining tight security.
