Yakeb honours HRC staff with ‘Learn From The Pros’ clinic

PETALING JAYA: The National Athletes Welfare Foundation (Yakeb) continued its efforts to connect former athletes with the community, hosting a “Learn From The Pros” sports clinic for staff at Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital (HRC).

Held on Oct 4, the programme featured national sports legends Datuk Santokh Singh, Datuk Subadron Aziz, Datuk Ramlan Askolani, Reduan Abdullah and Kamarulzaman Yusoff, who shared their experiences representing the country.

The clinic also included a special session for the children of HRC staff and a meet-and-greet with the nation’s sports legends.

The football clinic was led by the former national athletes and coaches Malek Rahman, Azrul Amri Burhan, Assrof Hanafiah, Hardi Jaffar and Ivan Mohd Yusof.

HRC was chosen to acknowledge its role in supporting the rehabilitation of former national athletes.

“Beyond giving former athletes a chance to express gratitude, this programme strengthens bonds and connects the younger generation with the nation’s sporting icons. Sports is the ideal platform to bring athletes closer to the community while promoting the ‘Giving Back to the Nation’ initiative,” said Yakeb chairman Datuk Ahmad Shapawi Ismail.

The event concluded with closing remarks from the HRC director and Yakeb chairman, followed by a symbolic handover of sports equipment and jerseys as a token of friendship and appreciation.
