EC to hold meeting to determine date of 17th Sabah State Election


KOTA KINABALU: The Election Commission (EC) will hold a special meeting to discuss important dates for the 17th Sabah State Election.

In a statement on Monday (Oct 6), the EC said the date of the special meeting would be announced later.

"the EC has taken note of the announcement on the dissolution of the 16th Sabah Legislative Assembly.

"The EC is prepared to conduct the election as provided for under Article 21 Clause (4) of the Sabah State Constitution," the statement said.

Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor earlier announced the dissolution after receiving the consent of the Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman. – Bernama
