KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor says there is a lot more Gabungan Rakyat Sabah and Pakatan Harapan can do for Sabah.
"Our work is far from over. We have new challenges that demand bold solutions and we are ready to lead Sabah into its next chapter.
"As this term concludes, we seek the people's renewed mandate to continue the progress we have begun – building a stronger, more prosperous, and united Sabah for all," he said when announcing the dissolution of the Sabah State Assembly on Monday (Oct 6).
Hajiji said during the past five years, the GRS-Pakatan Harapan government had put in place a clear path of transformation through their holistic and inclusive Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan.
"We have set Sabah on a clear path of transformation since taking over the helm of government in September 2020 guided by its three foundational pillars," he said.
He said the first pillar encompassed agriculture, industry and tourism; the second comprised human capital and people's welfare; and the third for infrastructure development and green sustainability.
Hajiji said the state government took bold and responsible steps to address long-standing legacy issues, especially on water and electricity supply and critical infrastructure.
He said concrete actions and major projects were underway to resolve these legacy challenges that have burdened the people for too long.
"Some initiatives have been completed, while others are progressing steadily toward completion," he said, adding that during this term, Sabah has strengthened its economy, attracted new investments to create jobs, expanded educational support and improved the social well-being of all communities.
These achievements were possible because of the people's trust, support and shared vision for a better Sabah, Hajiji said.
He said he hoped the outcome of the election would strengthen the people's voice, safeguard stability and security and ensure continued progress for Sabah
