AFZAA Fadini Abdul Aziz, who will wed the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, exuded timeless elegance in her recent pre-wedding photo shoot with a bespoke kebaya that paid homage to Selangor’s royal heritage, its designer revealed.

Speaking to Utusan Malaysia, Hana Sallahuddin said the ensemble blends tradition with contemporary flourishes.

“Our DNA is classic traditional yet it is timeless. So when Afzaa Fadini requested an official attire, I immediately envisioned a bespoke long kebaya for her,” Hana said.

She looked to archival portraits of former queens and consorts for inspiration.

For the ensemble itself, Hana selected exquisite French lace and silk in a refined champagne hue for the bride, who is a King’s College London graduate.

The kebaya was further embellished with delicate Japanese beads, with a special touch in the form of bunga tanjung’motifs, which is Selangor’s official flower.

According to her, the discussion process and detailed embroidery began in April and was completed within two months.

The couple’s solemnisation ceremony takes place on Oct 2.

> The daily also reported on the marriage betwen visually-impaired couple Mohd Hafizey Mat Nasir, 36, and Mas Ibrahim, 65 after a six-month courtship.

Mohd Hafizey explained that his feelings for Mas began to develop three years ago, after often listening to her voice during radio broadcasts.

“My heart was drawn to her every time I heard her voice on the radio. From then on, I spent three years trying to get her phone number and finally, a friend helped me get to know her,” said Mohd Hafizey.

“Our age gap of 29 years is not a barrier to marriage, although there were initial doubts from the family.”

He added that he was learning reflexology to support them.

Meanwhile, Mas said she embraced the marriage with an open heart, though she admitted feeling a little shy at first about having a younger husband.

“But I believe this is God’s plan, and I am grateful for it,” she said.
