Insolvency Department monitoring 129 temples

A TOTAL of 129 Hindu temples are being monitored by the Insolvency Department for various administrative inconsistencies, Malaysia Nanban reported.

President of the Malaysian Hindu Temples and Associations Council (Mahima) Datuk Sivakumar Nadarajah announced the matter at a press conference.

The trustee of the Sri Maha Mariamman Devasthanam Kuala Lumpur said it was an embarrassment to the community.

This situation came about because those in charge were trying show up each other instead of working together to manage the temples.

Meanwhile, the planned national conference of Hindu temples will take place next year as planned, Sivakumar said.

> A man in Tamil Nadu, India, was murdered by his uncle for reprimanding him for having an affair, the daily also reported.

Villagers were shocked to find a dead man with his face smashed by the side of a road.

Investigations eventually led to the son of the victim’s brother.
