AFTER four years of living in darkness due to cataracts, 65-year-old Mohd Din Deli can once again see the world around him, thanks to a good Samaritan, reported Kosmo!
The Negri Sembilan-born senior lost his sight several years ago and was forced to stop working, resorting to begging around Kuala Lumpur to survive.
However, his situation changed after businessman Jeyenderan Ramasamy, who regularly saw Din begging near the Kortumalai Pillaiyar Temple, stepped in to help.
Jeyenderan paid for Din’s room rental and medical treatment.
Din underwent surgery on both eyes on Aug 4 and has since regained his vision.
“During the past four years, I could only hear people talking about the excitement of National Day celebrations.
“This year, I will be able to see the fireworks myself. For me, that is the true meaning of Merdeka.”

One of his immediate plans was to collaborate with a chef on a food business ventures.
Qi was the founding drummer of the popular local alternative rock band OAG, or Original Alternative Gang, in the 1990s.
Qi said he now wants to explore the music world again with The ExAct Band.
