PETALING JAYA: Putrajaya is the latest location to record unhealthy air quality readings as of Wednesday (Aug 12).
According to the Environment Department’s Air Pollutant Index Management System, an air pollutant index of 118 was recorded at 10.15am.
Apart from Putrajaya, nine other localities - all in Sarawak - recorded unhealthy air quality readings.
They are Serian (196), Kuching (173), Samarahan (172), Sarikei (161), Sri Aman (158), Bintulu (157), Samalaju (153), Sibu (151) and Miri (132).
Unhealthy air quality readings are recorded when the air pollutant index ranges between 101 and 200.
Meanwhile, six locations are bordering on unhealthy air quality readings.
Kuala Selangor, Shah Alam, Banting and Johan Setia in Selangor recorded air pollutant index readings of 99, while Mukah in Sarawak and Bukit Rambai in Melaka also recorded an air pollutant index reading of 99 each.
