KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman is working closely with Thai police to uncover the smuggling network of a Malaysian man nabbed with a cache of firearms in Sadao, Songkhla.
Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said both police forces are sharing intelligence to uncover the network.

"We are working closely with our Thai counterparts on this matter.
"We are also working with security forces in other neighbouring countries on various border security-related matters," he told reporters in Bukit Aman on Wednesday (Sept 24).
On the Malaysian suspect arrested in Songkhla, the IGP said Thai authorities would be taking appropriate legal action.
"He is still being held in Thailand and will go through the legal process there," he added.

Thai media previously reported that a 46-year-old Malaysian man was arrested by police on Aug 29.
A search of a Malaysia-registered vehicle uncovered two M4 rifles, 300 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, seven magazines, 100 rounds of.45 calibre ammunition, and 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Preliminary investigations revealed the suspect had been hired to smuggle the weapons into Malaysia, while several other syndicate members remain at large.
