Motorcyclist dies after crashing into stalled lorry in Johor Baru


JOHOR BARU: A motorcyclist was killed after ramming into the rear of a stalled lorry at KM9, Jalan Johor Baru–Ayer Hitam towards Skudai.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh said the incident took place on Monday (Sept 22) at 4.30pm near a shopping complex.

“The lorry had broken down in the left lane of the stretch and was waiting for tow truck assistance when the accident happened,” he said in a statement.

ACP Balveer said the 26-year-old Malaysian man suffered internal injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the paramedic team.

He added the lorry driver, a 36-year-old local man, was unhurt.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death due to reckless or dangerous driving.
