KUALA KUBU BHARU: Security for all state royalty and leaders will be enhanced following the arrest of a woman who attempted to hug the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.
“This will involve bodyguard training and incorporating elements from the Unit Tindak Khas and commandos, so that protocols are streamlined with officers attached to the istanas and state governments,” Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail (pic) said at the Kuala Kubu Bahru Maktab PDRM today after launching a police diploma programme.

He added that, according to the state police's statement, the woman was found to be suffering from mental health issues and had a history of drug-related offences.
Regarding the results of the second post-mortem on Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Reserve Officers’ Training Unit (Palapes) cadet Syamsul Haris Shamsudin, he said police have yet to receive the full report.
“Officially, the report has not been received yet. So, wait for the full results,” he said.
He added that any new leads will be investigated, in response to questions about new evidence handed over by the family’s lawyer.
On Saturday, lawyer Datuk Naran Singh said the evidence includes an audio recording saved on a USB drive, documents on the court process to obtain the second post-mortem, and photographs.
On August 26, the Shah Alam High Court ordered the remains of Syamsul Haris to be exhumed as soon as possible.
He was buried at the Kampung Rinching Ulu Muslim Cemetery in Semenyih after passing away on July 28 at Kota Tinggi Hospital, a day after undergoing training at the Army Combat Training Centre (Pulada) in Ulu Tiram.
