Police investigating upside-down flag incident in Gombak


GOMBAK: Another upside-down flag incident has led to a police investigation after its discovery near Batu Caves.

The upside-down flag was spotted attached to a shop lot in the area.

The incident was reported on August 23, and police have recorded statements from the owner.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir confirmed the case when contacted.

He added that the matter is being investigated under Section 3 of the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act 1963.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis also confirmed that the department assisted in rectifying the flag.

A photo of firefighters climbing up to fix the upside-down flag has been shared on social media.
