Lorry driver dies in 11-vehicle crash near Pagoh


MUAR: A lorry driver died in an accident involving 11 vehicles at KM130 of the North–South Expressway after the exit of the Pagoh rest and treatment (R&R) area here on Saturday (Aug 23).

Operations Commander, Senior Fire Supt 2, Mohd Hafiz Mohd Shahid from the Pagoh Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) said that he received an emergency call regarding the accident at 6.23am, reported Sinar Harian.

According to him, upon receiving the call, a fire truck and seven personnel were dispatched to a location 15km away.

"Upon arriving at the location at 6.43am, it was found that there had been a road accident involving 11 vehicles.

"One victim was confirmed dead at the scene, while the other 10 were not injured.

"The firemen then acted to remove the victims using special equipment," he said.

The victim was then handed over to the police for further action, and the operation ended at the hour
