Year Two boy in surgery after attack

KUALA TERENGGANU: A Year Two pupil suffered severe facial injuries after allegedly being assaulted by a group of schoolmates.

The eight-year-old boy sustained a fractured orbital bone and broken nose when he was allegedly attacked by several other pupils who pinned his arms and punched him in the face until he fell.

The incident came to light when the boy returned home with blood and bruises on his face on July 30.

The boy underwent surgery yesterday to repair the nasal fracture.

His mother said this was not the first time her son had been bullied, but no police report was lodged then, Bernama reported.

Kuala Terengganu police chief ACP Azli Mohd Noor confirmed receiving a police report.

Preliminary investigations suggest the incident stemmed from teasing among the pupils.
