Terengganu declares March 19 a public holiday for Aidilfitri


KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu government has announced that Thursday (March 19) will be a public holiday in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

Terengganu state secretary Datuk Mohamad Azmi Mohd Daham said the date corresponds to 29 Ramadan 1447 Hijrah.

"The state government has agreed to declare Thursday, March 19, 2026, as a public holiday for the entire state of Terengganu in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration for 2026," he said in a statement on Monday.

In addition, Mohamad Azmi said the state government also agreed to maintain the previously gazetted state public holiday on March 23, 2026, as published under Section 9(1) of the Holidays Act 1951 (Act 369) on Oct 30, 2025. - Bernama
