PKR unveils new leadership lineup: Key appointments announced


PETALING JAYA: The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Central Leadership Council (MPP) announced several key figures in their party’s main positions, here on Saturday (July 26).

Its Information chief, Datuk Fahmi Fadil, said that Roland Engan is now vice-president, while Senator Dr Fuziah Salleh, who is the Domestic Trade and Costs of Living Deputy Minister, is the secretary-general.

The Communications Minister also retained his position in the party leadership lineup.

Several other key PKR appointments include Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as Advisory Council Chairman, Sivarasa Rasiah as Legal Bureau Chairman, Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun as Academy and Training Bureau Chairman, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Dr. Zaliha Mustafa as Central Election Committee Chairman and Energy Transition and Water Transformation Deputy Minister Akmal Nasir as Economy Bureau Chairman.

Fahmi also said that during the meeting, party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim presented his views on several matters.

“The Prime Minister spoke about current issues, including the process of appointing judges and the Southeast Asian region, specifically related to the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia.

“In addition, the MPP also decided on the appointments for the party's main positions,” he said in a statement.

Other appointments include Selayang MP William Leong as treasurer and Elizabeth Wong as chief secretary-general.
