Road closures near Perak state secretariat for Warriors' Day

Several roads near the Perak state secretariat building in Ipoh will close, and traffic will be diverted for the Warriors' Day celebration and rehearsals.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the roads would be closed on Tuesday (July 29) and Wednesday (July 30) for rehearsals from 7.30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

"On the event day, Thursday (July 31), roads will close for about an hour from 7.30 a.m.," he said in a statement on the Polis Perak Facebook page on Thursday (July 24).

"The road closures are to enable programmes involving the Royal Family and dignitaries while ensuring motorists' safety," he said.

ACP Abang Zainal Abidin said affected roads include Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab, Jalan Kuala Kangsar, Jalan St John, Jalan Raja Musa Aziz, and Jalan SP Seenivasagam.

Traffic from Medan Kidd on Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab will be diverted to Jalan St John and Jalan SP Seenivasagam.

Traffic from Jalan Kuala Kangsar will be diverted to Jalan Raja Musa Aziz.

"The motorcade carrying dignitaries on Jalan Sultan Iskandar will turn right onto Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab," he added.

ACP Abang Zainal Abidin advised the public to plan their journeys early to avoid the affected roads during the events.

"Motorists are urged to follow road signs and instructions from traffic policemen on duty and to use alternative routes. Road users are also urged to be prudent and cooperate fully to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely," he added.
