Datuk Fadil Marsus to be next Kuala Lumpur police chief


PETALING JAYA: Deputy Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus has been appointed as the next Kuala Lumpur police chief.

The Bukit Aman Criminal Investigations Department deputy director (intelligence/operations) was among five newly announced state police chiefs on Saturday (July 19).

Penang police will now be headed by Bukit Aman Management Department deputy director (administration) DCP Datuk TS Azizee Ismail.

In Selangor, Maktab Kuala Lumpur commandant DCP Datuk Shazeli Kahar will assume the role of state police chief.

Kedah deputy police chief DCP Adzli Abu Shah will be promoted to state police chief, while Management Department deputy director (service/staffing) DCP Ab Rahaman Arsad will become the new Johor police chief.

All postings come with a promotion to police commissioner.

Meanwhile, Senior Asst Comm Datuk Mohd Sukri Kaman will succeed DCP Fadil as Bukit Aman CID deputy director (intelligence/operations).

Police secretary SAC Datuk Kamaruzaman Abdullah announced the high-level police reshuffle, adding that the postings will take effect on Monday (August 18).
