Express bus rear-ends trailer lorry on NSE, four women hurt


SEREMBAN: Four women sustained minor injuries after the express bus that they were travelling in rear-ended a trailer lorry at KM243.9 of the North-South Expressway, northbound, early Saturday (July 12) morning.

Operations Commander, Senior Fire Officer I from the Rembau Fire and Rescue Station, Mohd Kassim Arippin, said his team received a report on the incident involving victims aged between their 20s and 30s at 2.52am.

He said the bus was carrying 30 passengers, comprising 13 men, 16 women and a child from Larkin, Johor to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

"…four women sustained minor injuries and were given initial treatment by the Emergency Operations Team before the arrival of the ambulance at the scene,” he said, adding that other passengers, who were unhurt, managed to exit the bus before the arrival of the rescue team. 

"The bus driver and trailer lorry driver were also unhurt,” he told Bernama here today.

He said the rescue operation, involving 16 firefighters from the Rembau, Kota, and Senawang Fire and Rescue Stations, concluded at 4.05am. - Bernama
