Storm warning: Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected over nine states, two FTs until 7pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather warning, with thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast in nine states and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Labuan until 7pm Saturday (June 28).

In a statement Saturday, MetMalaysia said the areas affected include Kedah (Sik, Baling and Kulim), Perak (Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Machang, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang), Terengganu (Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin), Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Langat), and Johor (Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Baru).

In Sarawak, the areas affected are Kuching, Miri and Limbang, while in Sabah the areas are Interior (Kuala Penyu and Beaufort), West Coast (Ranau and Kota Belud) Tawau (Kunak and Lahad Datu), and Sandakan (Telupid, Beluran and Sandakan).
