Storm warning: Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected over five states, KL until 5pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather warning, with thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast in five states and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur until 5pm Friday (June 27).

In a statement Friday, MetMalaysia said the areas affected include Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Bentong, Bera and Rompin), Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, and Hulu Langat), and Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Kuala Pilah and Jempol).

In Sarawak, the areas affected are Kuching, Serian, amarahan, Si Aman., Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Kanowit), Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro and Matu), and Kapit (Song and Kapit).
