The Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration for two sisters was dashed when their motorcycle was abruptly seized by the authorities while they were on their way to buy headscarves, reported Harian Metro.
The siblings, aged 18 and 22, were travelling from Chempaka to the Wakaf Che Yeh bazaar in Kota Baru when they were stopped at a road block mounted by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) in a special festive operation.
Upon checking, the motorcycle’s road tax was found to have expired in 2023.
According to the elder girl, they did not realise that the road tax had expired as they rarely used the motorcycle.
“I have been working in Kuala Lumpur for a while now and my sister, who owns the bike, also works outside Kelantan. We did not realise that the road tax had expired,” the report quoted her as saying.
She said she got back to her village on Thursday morning and rode with her sister to town to buy new tudung for Aidiladha.

Three TVET students, all aged 19, were riding their motorcycles with another friend to their respective hometowns in the state when the accident occurred at KM49.4 of the North-South Expressway.
Muhammad Habil Mohd Sobri, Muhammad Fahmi Jamel and Muhammad Arif Aifan Derani were on their way home to Gurun, Jeniang and Bukit Selambau, respectively.
