Terengganu PERKESO rehab centre to boost recovery, re-employment

PETALING JAYA: A new Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) Rehabilitation Centre in Terengganu is set to boost rehabilitation services and help injured workers return to employment, says Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan.

Ramanan said the project, whose progress was presented to the Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, on Thursday (April 2), would strengthen the country’s social security system, particularly in supporting PERKESO contributors who have suffered injuries or disabilities.

“This is particularly important in enhancing rehabilitation and re-employment opportunities, especially for the people of Terengganu,” he said in a statement after being granted an audience.

He added that the centre would offer comprehensive and integrated rehabilitation services, in line with the government’s commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare and social protection facilities.

Ramanan also conveyed his appreciation to Sultan Mizan for his continued concern for the well-being of the rakyat and his support for initiatives aimed at improving quality of life and enabling individuals to return to the workforce.
