Teen girl found dead at home in Sg Buloh


KUALA LUMPUR: A 13-year-old girl has been found dead at a residence in Sungai Buloh near here.

Sungai Buloh OCPD Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said police received information on the victim being found unconscious at 6.27pm on Wednesday (April 1).

He said a medical officer from Sungai Buloh Hospital who arrived at the scene confirmed that the victim was dead.

Mohd Hafiz said the body was later taken to the hospital's Forensic Department for a post-mortem examination.

"Statements have been recorded from three witnesses and further investigations are ongoing," he said in a statement on Thursday (April 2) night.

He said that police are investigating ht case under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for alleged abuse, neglect, abandonment or exposure of a child in a manner likely to cause physical or emotional injury.

Members of the public with information on the case are urged to come forward by visiting the nearest police station or contacting investigating officer Insp Muhammad Amirul Amin Shukor at 013-6695290 to assist in the investigation. – Bernama
